The story behind TWENTY-FOUR by THIRTY-SIX is that I cannot eat ice cream or any dairy for that matter let’s just say it causes a tremendous amount of distress for me. Went to store to get sorbet or anything non-dairy. There is a brand that sells sorbet in coconut shells, and one was in a pineapple skin shaped in a way that made it a practical means of eating it. After finishing this delicious treat, I had been looking at a blank black canvas that decidedly I painted a dark mixture of blues, blacks, greens, and reds enough to cover an entire 24×36 canvas. When I saw those two shells that were raw and the black canvas the idea popped in my head to use the two and paint them as eyes that could be seen in the dark. Also looking closer, I etched various figures onto the canvas that are not seen unless you are up close or can see the shapes inside of the painting from afar.
