I was gifted to attend the Jean Michel Basquiat exhibition here in Los Angeles. To say the least it was inspiring to see in the flesh the work of an artist whom I had only interacted with from a television screen. The colors and their various tones seem to be in technicolor, and everything looked so rich with vigor. I felt like my imagination was alive and could see and feel the canvas. The very next day, I grabbed a brush and some oil paints, and thus there was, “Carpooling”.
