Artist Statement
This book began with intuitive drawings where I allowed my hand and the pencil lead the way. It was a meditative process that I became totally engrossed in. The colors and shapes seemed symbolic of interior landscapes- thoughts, musings, dreams as well as biological and botanical imagery. These small drawings then found their way attached into long strips of vellum (mylar). I extended the shapes from the rectangular drawings out onto the vellum which were then perfect for creating an accordion book form.

Artist Statement
Intuition leads my hands to choose colors and shapes that extend from one page to the next. The rounded forms and bright hues create a celebratory narrative of joyful color.
