Mireya Samper was born in Iceland but she is an international artist as her artworks testifies clearly. She studied art in Iceland and France, and has lived and worked around the world. Mireya works in a variety of materials depending on the idea they serve and the context.
Mireya Samper, Founder, CEO and Artistic Director of the International Art Biennale Fresh Winds since 2010 resides in Iceland and has exhibited work through the world. Most recent solo exhibits include: Under influence, Caza d’Oro Mas d’Azil, France, Tómið og rýmið, Reykjavík, Iceland, Transcendence, Tokyo, Japan, Endless Source, Europos Parkos Vilnius, Lithuania.
Her work is included in many international collections some of which are in France, Japan, Lithuania, Austria, Sweden, Japan. Residencies and symposiums include those in China, Turkey and Chile. Among the many honors received include the Officer of Arts and Letters, l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, France. She has many film and video credits to her name, which can be viewed on her extensive website.
