Heavenly Bodies

  • Cut steel sheets and scraps welded to supporting base
  • 37” x W-28” x D- 20”  weight: 55lbs
  • Installation: pre-drilled holes in base to insert 5-6″ nails into ground. No maintenance needed.

“Heavenly Bodies” is a steel free standing sculpture which will be anchored to the ground using 2-3 metal u shaped brackets at the base. The holes represent the Earth and Moon in orbit around the Sun.  It has been left untreated so the color and texture is the result of the elements upon it.

I was a full time practicing oral surgeon for fifty years, until 10 years ago when I retired. I could then devote full time to making my art rather than occasionally. I use found objects placed in boxes which I often make. These objects are personal symbols to tell a story often known only to me. I hope each viewer will invent their own interpretation. For my outdoor sculpture I use found steel sheets and scraps.
