A freestanding, larger-than-life sculpture titled “Poke” will be situated in the Apple Orchard. This sculpture is inspired by Phytolacca Americana (American pokeweed) and will mimic the elongated fruiting raceme of the plant. With stems growing in a spiral arrangement, iridescent colors of pink and light green, Poke will command attention. The general public will be drawn to the spectacle of the oversized “weed” nested among the cultivated apple specimens as if seeing it for the very first time.
