“If the bees disappeared off the face of the Earth, man would only have four years left to live.” Albert Einstein

Research shows that over 100,000 species of plants would become extinct if the pollinating function of bees was to cease. A single colony can pollinate 3 million flowers per day.

Bees are responsible for pollinating 75% of the world’s flowering plants and trees and 35% of the world’s crops. That means we have bees to thank for one out of every three bites of food! Birds and seed eating animals would loose their food source without bees.

No honeybees, no honey and without honey and its benefits, our whole world will be significantly less sweet! Sadly, bees of all types are in decline worldwide. Human activity presents the biggest threat to bees. Global bee populations have been declining over recent decades on account of intensive agricultural practices, loss of habitat, global warming and shifting weather patterns, pollution and the overuse of pesticides.
