Phyllis Chadwick
I live in Dutchess County having moved up from Westchester County more than. 40 years ago. It is here that I began my relationship with nature.
I have always had a creative spirit seeking an outlet. All my life I had a need to create. I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching and worked at Pawling High School as an art teacher. During my tenure I re-instated an art club and found joy in working with students to create wall murals all through the High School, I also guided students in set painting and community projects. In my retirement, I am filling my creative niche in a variety of ways. Which includes photography, painting, and mixed media. Most of my art centers around man’s interaction with nature or soul-searching concepts. Through my art, I try to show the beauty and new perspectives of everyday aspects of our lives. I hope that through these new perspectives I can bring awareness to our relationship with each other, our environment, and how important each component is no matter how insignificant or vexing it might seem.
