Katia Canton
Katia Canton is an artist, writer and psychoanalyst.
She is Brazilian/Italian and currently lives between Lisbon and São Paulo. She is a professor is Aesthetics and Art History at the University of São Paulo and a researcher at the University of Lisbon.
She holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Arts from Steinhardt, New YOrk University and a Postdoc from University of São Paulo, as well as a diplôme d´Études Superieurs in French Literature and Civilization from l´Université de Nancy II, France.
Her artistic research establishes a dialogue between feminism, cure, nature and the “forest” as a symbolic place for change in fairy tales and in contemporary life. She is the author of many books on art, and fairy tales and as an artist she has shown her works in many museums internationally.
